Mark Bain
Mark is
the business backbone of the organization and he brings to the
table extensive private sector
and public
sector experience. After
graduating from Queen’s University, Mark was recruited by Chrysler
Financial where he spent several years honing his business and
financial skills within Chryslers largest North American branch.
In
1989, Mark moved to the Ontario Government where he held a
number
of
progressive positions in the areas of finance, policy and
program
operations. As a financial officer and later an analyst
Mark led a team of financial
professionals, managed billion dollar budgets and used his
policy and program experience to assist senior management in program
delivery across Ontario.
Excited about private business and global operations, Mark left government to pursue his own business objectives
opening
several adventure tourism operations, a remote luxury retreat
and
Inn. His hard
work resulted in the business community seeking out his skills and
abilities for short term consulting assignments. After years
of
impressive business rewards Mark sold his business operations and
began
professional
business consulting full-time. In
1998, Mark took an assignment as a senior consultant for the federal
government
assisting the Nunavut Government in the design and implementation of
Canada's newest jurisdiction. He later accepted a public service
position as Director to oversee the finance, policy, HR and
records management for two of the government's key departments.
Mark
has continued to maintain and update his extensive repertoire of
solution-based
analytical and customer relationship management skills. In
1999,
Mark attended the prestigious
Executive Program at Queen’s University. In
2002 Mark
graduated from the Queens’ School of Business
with an MBA and was immediately invited back as an advisor
for MBA
candidates undertaking project in Strategy, Global Business and New
Ventures. In 2003 Mark was appointed by the
European
Bank as a Senior Industrial Advisor within the Turn-Around
Management
Program. The
Yukon Government appoint
Mark to the Yukon Tax Appeal
Board and the Ontario Government appointed him to the grant review team
of the Trillium Foundation. As well, Mark has served
on
several boards and was elected a trustee for the public school system.
Mark has completed graduate courses in Business Law and
Economics from the University of Toronto, Accounting and Finance from
York University and International Management from the Sloan
School of
Management.
In 2006 Mark successfuly completed the Society of
Management Accountant's Board Exam.
